Student appreciates music elective, teacher, diversity of class

Today I began to attend my elective class, Music Appreciation with English teacher Candice Valenzuela.

I was interested in this class because I am a singer and play piano, and I thought it would be cool to participate in a class that I enjoyed.

The first three years of high school (in another state), I took a chorus class and I didn’t like it that much, but Valenzuela is someone I get along with very well and I like her sense of style. Plus, we agree on the same music, such as jazz and some mainstream artists.

Valenzuela tells us that the class will have a different song every week and we’ll listen to the different music that others like as well.

There is no one who has been singled out, and so far we all get along. Many people in the elective bring a different personality to the table.
