Oakland Unified cuts to Paul Robeson mean no art teacher for arts school

Paul Robeson faculty, students and parents are not happy that the district has decided to phase out the school.

     But they’re even more upset that the district has left them with what they say are inadequate resources to run the school properly for the students and staff who choose to remain at the school in the final three years of existence.

     The school board voted to shut down Paul Robeson School of Visual & Performing Arts on Dec. 17, citing failing enrollment and poor academic performance.
