Believe it or not, Fremont seniors are striving for a Senior Sunrise. Yes, that’s right, seniors are up to getting to school before sunrise to celebrate with one another and to increase school spirit.

This year’s Sunrise will be Wednesday morning Sept. 21 at 6:00 a.m. on the upper deck.

Senior Sunrise is when seniors come to school for an early breakfast and eat treats such as waffles and muffins while watching the sunrise. This event allows seniors to bond at the beginning of the year and form a sense of unity.

“I feel like it’s a must because it’s our senior year,” Stasia Tupou, a senior in Media Academy, said.

Some Fremont High School students believe Fremont has lack of school spirit and school activities. Seniors want to have some fun before they go off to college and face the real world.

“I feel that senior sunrise is something that we should do because we have no school spirit,” Lashawntae McCree, another senior in Media Academy, said.

Seniors at Fremont High School aren’t going to let their last year of high school be boring. They want to have a memorable senior year and would like to kick it off with a senior sunrise. They hope to initiate a tradition that will extend beyond this school year.
