Fremont upsets Skyline in five set game


CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES Fremont Federation’s girls volleyball team celebrates its come-from-behind victory over Skyline High School on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The Tigers defeated the Titans 3-2.

The Lady Tigers volleyball team defeated the Skyline Lady Titans, the defending league champions, on Tuesday in their first game of the season.

The team struggled in the first two games, losing both, but pulled together to take the third and fourth games. In the fifth and final game, the Lady Tigers dominated, winning 15-5.

“This means so much to us because we’ve been so close to beating Skyline [before] and now that we have, the season is over,” said senior Violet Souksavath. “We are going to take the OAL.”

Meagan Maile, another senior, was equally confident after the game.

“I feel like I want to cry,” she said. “I feel like I want to cry because in past years, Skyline has been our competition. And this year, we are going to take the OAL.”
