GREEN, GOLD AND PROUD: Media Academy senior Diana Le watches the homecoming rally at the courtyard dressed in the school colors on Nov. 10.

Spirit week wrapped up with “green and gold day” and a homecoming rally on Nov. 10.

Fremont’s spirit week activities were organized by the Leadership club led by College & Career coordinator Nydia Baez.

The rally included performances by the Poly Club, the cheerleaders and the football team.

Media Academy seniors Jennifer Lopez and Leland Moore were crowned homecoming king and queen. Freshman Miea Manuel was named lady. Sophomores Tyronne Gaines and Unique Taylor were named duke and duchess. Juniors Shay Evans and Bishope Apodaca were named princess and prince.

Additionally, Ja’Nelle Nichols and Matthew Phork were named JROTC king and queen. Earsey Crockett and Siliveinusi Tomasi were Poly Club’s king and queen.

Many Media seniors used green and gold face paint to celebrate the event.

“I wanted to be more spirited,” said senior Sabrina Le. “It’s our last year!”

Some teachers were surprised  that so many students participated.

“This is the most school spirit I have seen in a long time,” said Media graphic design teacher Howard Ruffner.

Fremont’s football team will play Castlemont on Nov. 12 at Curt Flood Field at 2 p. m.
