Three seniors will play their last game in the Fremont gymnasium Wednesday when the Tigers take on the Castlemont Knights for senior night.

Seniors are guards Tyronne Gaines, Donell Wheat and Kaelin Mixon. Wheat and Gaines are also team captains.

Gaines, who has been playing for Fremont for four years, has high hopes for the end of his high school career.

“My overall high school experience as a Tiger has been very good but basketball doesn’t stop,” said Gaines. “Now the main goal as of now is bringing home a OAL championship and also a NorCal Championship trophy.”

Mixon is finishing his first full season as a Fremont Tiger

“My high school basketball career has been a lot of ups and downs, but I managed to keep my grades up to par and also my dominant play on the court,” said Mixon. “We’re in the playoffs and hopefully we bring home a trophy to Fremont.”

Wheat is a four year Tiger, three of which were on the varsity team.

“My high school basketball career has been fun and full of buckets. Just like Mixon it’s been a lot of ups and downs, but I maintain my grades to be eligible to play and also lead my team in scoring,” said Wheat. “Now the next step is bringing home a championship banner.”

Tigers last defeated the Oakland Tech Bulldogs 66-68 and now are 5-4 overall.
