Lisa Shafer, Green & Gold Adviser

Lisa Shafer is adviser to the Green & Gold newspaper.   Shafer,  a sixth-year teacher at Media Academy, worked as a reporter for the Contra Costa Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and The Blade (Toledo, Ohio).  Shafer also worked as a copy editor at the Japan Times in Tokyo.  Before coming to Media Academy,  Shafer worked as a journalism adviser and English teacher at Clayton Valley High School in Concord.  She holds a masters degree in journalism from the University of Michigan and a bachelors degree in English Composition from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.  In her spare time,  Shafer enjoys walking or biking around Lake Merritt, skiing in Tahoe and hanging out with friends. She also advises the Ohio State University advisory at Fremont and is excited to watch the Buckeyes win the national championship in both football and basketball.  And, yes, she needs an updated photo on this webpage.
